Hi, I'm new, but I saw this article yesterday on CBS website. Buried within the article is this quote which made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
Here's the quote:
Firpo Carr, Michael's friend, said the kids are familiar with the tenets of the faith.
“They believe that they're going to see Dad again when he's awakened from his sleep, that is, when he is resurrected from the dead.”

Spooky.
I think it is entirely plausable that MJ faked his death, whether to escape or as setting the stage for the ultimate resurrection come back I don't know. But two things I do know for sure are this: A stunt like this is right up Michael's alley, and if anyone could pull it off it would be him.
I mean a ghost at Neverland? Come on, Mike!

You know if he is dead.. that's quite sad. But if he isn't, then he probably told them he'd be going away for a while and would come back later. I really hope he did this to stage a huge comeback sometime soon, and that's why they're delaying the buriel and the custody hearing and everything else. It would be really great if that were to happen.

I did a google search on “Jehovah's Witnesses” to try to figure out how death is viewed and this is what I got from wikipedia. I don't know very much specificially about the religion, but forgive me if I offended anyone by searching google.
“Death
Jehovah's Witnesses believe that death is a state of non-existence with no consciousness. They do not believe in any Hell of fiery torment. Hades and Sheol are understood to refer to the condition of death, termed the common grave.[135][136][137] They consider the body and the soul to be the same living being that expires.[138] Their hope for life after death involves being resurrected by God, either with a new body on earth after Armageddon, or to heaven for the limited number of 144,000.”

I can't really point that to being a sure sign that Michael really is alive because it could mean he is alive or that he will get resurrected by God. However..considering the other clues in this puzzle…hmm

I highly doubt this means anything about their faith. They have never been raised Johova's Witness, And now all of a sudden they believe. I could be wrong, But it sounds to me like Michael is alive and will be back. Or at least this is my hope. This just brought a smile to my face.

No guys, read the quote again…
the KIDS say “they're going to see Dad again when he's awakened from his sleep”,
it's the reporter who adds “that is, when he is resurrected from the dead” to tie into the religious context of the article.
The KIDS say they'll see Daddy when he wakes from his “sleep”.
I saw nothing in the Wikipedia article re: Jehova's Witnesses regarding death being a form of sleep.
The reporter is the one who interjects religion into the statement. Sounds like he/she is assuming they mean resurrection as pertains to their faith. Reporters shouldn't assume.
Interesting.

That's why I use to believe that Michael is in a deep coma. Maybe they are waiting for his awaken or something because all this stuff with no burial yet because they can't find a proper place or another piece of BS I can't buy it.

I don't think that there is anything strange about that statement…
Jehova's witness believe that when you die the body goes into a “sleep stage”
and will stay asleep until the time they are “resurrected” …
I would assume that the children have been taught some Jehova Beliefs while MJ was alive…
and are also repeating what Katherine is telling them…
Since she is a devout JW, this is what she believes and that is the wording that they use.
“Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that a person is the soul the Bible speaks of, and when a person dies nothing lives on, the person is dead and is conscious of nothing. When the time comes for God to resurrect them from the dead He will create a new body for them from His memory.”

I agree, there is nothing strange about what the children said. They have only proven by this statement, that they were raised to believe that there is no death.
