The 911 call – QUESTIONS

I just re-listened and read the transcript of the 911 call. Now, I'm not from the US so I have a few questions regarding the 911 procedure.

The caller : when he first starts to talk, you can hear that he's nervous. Then, he progressively gets less and less nervous as he talks, to the point of actually being quite calm. We don't hear any frenzy in the back or anything.
The name Michael Jackson is not mentioned. Someone said “That's because he didn't want to alert the media” but isn't 911 supposed to take ANY call as the truth, just in case ?

The caller clearly says there's only a doctor there, who saw what happened. He doesn't mention where they are in the house (Dr's room or MJ's room.)

When the 911 guy asks for the address, the caller says “9077, Los Angeles”. Now, I'm not American – is 9077 the code for a street ? The 911 guy immediately says Carolwood. Caller responds “Yes, Carolwood Drive”. Are the phonecalls traced ? Or is 9077 always code for “Carolwood Drive ?”

He implies that MJ is on the bed and the DR is pumping him.
Then, he says MJ is not responding to CPR… while CPR is administered on the bed. OK, I only took first-aid and I know that CPR is always done on the hard surface (the 911 call-taker actually says “let's get him on the floor”)

Is 911 supposed to stay on the phone until the paramedics arrive ? ('Call us back if you need any help.”)

YES. 911 ALWAYS stays on the line UNTIL paramedics arrive. I HAVE NEVER heard a 911 operator tell someone to CALL THEM BACK if you need any more help. That is what baffles me the most.

I agree, and not ONLY did they send an ambulance, they sent a firetruck which I am certain is the advanced life support. But, what I don't get- and I've noticed it popping up places, they were doing the CPR ALL WRONG!

Also, they stated some time after he was pronounced 'dead' that there was no land line and that's why it took so long for them to get a hold of 911. But, uh, isn't this 2009- EVERY ONE has cell phones these days.

9077 is the house number, and Carolwood is the street. What's weird for many reasons is that his identity wasn't revealed via the 911 call. They are supposed to ask the first and last name of the caller, ALWAYS.

very strange indeed. so many mistakes.

what i remember, they also didn't asked for a pulse. and for what i have understand, they normaly always ask that.

the caller tells that the person is not breathing, but theirs no talking about the pulse.

and then the thing of the cpr on the bed. that's also really strange! i don't understand why the people here seems to be the only one who notice that

greatings from amsterdam everyone, keep up the good work!!

Yes, they should always ask the name of the caller.

Another thing, the operator asks 'Ok. He’s not conscious, he’s not breathing?'….caller says 'Yes, he’s not breathing sir' operator says…'And he’s not conscious either?'..caller says 'No, he’s not conscious sir'

IF HE'S NOT f**king BREATHING HE'S NOT f**king CONSCIOUS. HOLY SHIT!

Okay, sorry. haha

That call seemed alittle fake to me, it didn't make any sense. He's a cardiologist so way would he do cpr on the bed? Usually they suppose to ask for the name of the patient. And the operator supposed to of stayed on the phone until the paramedics arrived.

Hehe, seems like it was everyone's first day on the job – the 911 operator, the ambulance driver….
