I think that will be the airing of the Uri Gellar docu they aired on UK tv last sunday evening. It was pretty pointless, just Uri trying to cash in by pretending that he and Michael were the closest of friends. There is some footage of Michael in it which is cute but Uri is pointless and it's just regurgitating everything that he has said in the newspapers since 25 June

As for August 1st, I doubt anything will happen except possibly mtv airing MJ music videos or something, I haven't bothered to check my Sky guide but judging from what others' have said on here that's all it will be. Mtv in the UK have been surprisingly quiet since after the Memorial so maybe they'll make up for it on the 1st, who knows? They have their own birthday/anniversary thing so maybe it will be a combination thing to suck in viewers and score high ratings.
29 August? Maybe they'll air the Vegas birthday tribute, maybe not, that I am not fussed about because I have had enough of second rate singers and others butchering Michael's songs.

Well, I hate disappointment so I'm just looking at it like it's a making of the tour that should have happened with maybe the 3d thriller project he did. Altough I 100% believe he's alive, I don't think the end of the movie willl contain that information.

I love your optimism, I sure wish I had that. I have never once doubted that he is alive but with every miserable passing day it just seems harder to imagine a “back from the dead” return. Of course, I would love nothing more than to see MJ become THE MAN(in everyones eyes) once again. Hopefully some new info will spark my hope once again very soon.

You know what I don't get?
Why release it as a movie?
And why get Kenny Ortega to direct this movie – seeing as they have over 80 hours of raw HD footage of rehearsals? This is the same Kenny Ortega who has propelled himself into the limelight with tat like HSM.
What is all this about releasing it as a Pay-Per-View, and a Movie? If they're releasing it in theatres then what is the need for PPV? I know AEG mentioned that several times, and they have made a packet out of selling it to Sony – the same Sony who notoriously have a bad history with Michael in later years.
Rehearsals – at least up to the point of full dress rehearsals or final rehearsals - are quite crap, it's all normal clothes, practising/learning dance moves, making sure you know where your marks are, going through song line-ups, standing/sitting around and so on and so forth – it will be vastly different from the finished final product on concert night. And they'll have Michael's music videos incorporated into the breaks? Thriller 3D? The 'Dome Project'?
It sounds like a bit of a hack job if I'm honest if it's just rehearsal footage - but then I will be parked on a seat glued to the screen so they've done their job already, not to mention they'll make a s***load of money from it.
I'd love for there to be a surprise from Michael at the end, and I already know that I'll be watching it on 30/10/09 if it's definitely out then but I can't help feeling a bit cynical about the director (Please, please don't make it into HSM tat!!) etc not to mention the amount of money changing hands and being made out of Michael.

I wonder why it's on after 10pm – that's after the watershed, but there is nothing bad, or adult in it, there's no bad language or anything.
Watch it, Michael is adorable in it, maybe just mute it when Uri talks lol j/k esp when he does stupid things like taking Michael Jackson on a train from a crowded station and then gets shocked when they're mobbed; but Michael is definitely adorable, they should have just put a whole hour of Michael

HSM makes me shudder, it's appalling and rubbish and I can't believe it managed to take over the world the way it did. Obviously, I have just alienated every single HSM fan in the world and they'll probably be baying for my blood but I hate it.
Granted both Dangerous and HIStory tours were awesome, awesomely awesome in fact – I just don't trust someone who has made a lot of money over a pointless Disney-esque high school thing which wasn't good in the first place and which has somehow exploded the way it did. I don't trust many people actually, I'm too suspicious, but Kenny Ortega is someone I don't quite trust and now that he's gone from THIS IS IT tour choreographer (which is great given the past tours) to THIS IS IT movie director (not so great given his movie credentials – HSM 1-3 possibly 4) – I'm not so hopeful about it being awesome.
I don't know how to explain it and may have made a hash of it earlier, let me try again - as a tour choreographer he's bloody brilliant – as a movie director/choreographer he's bloody awful. Given his recent work portfolio – he could make a complete hash of it.

Lol, don't worry, I did the same thing, I only plucked up the courage to start posting a week or so ago and it was terrifying – I don't know why bit it was terrifying.
I'm not sure how the 1st August thing started either, but from what I gathered in past threads – I think it has something to do with MTV's anniversary being 1st August or something like that so they would be holding a full day tribute to Michael – MJTV – so the idea took off. I don't think it has any real significance beyond that but if anyone else can explain it better that would be appreciated.
Btw, your Feegee Mermaid scared the crap out of me lol.

I have never posted on a forum before, and I wasn't sure I would have much to contribute to the amazing posts I have read so far
This site has inspired me and also helped to keep me sane in the last few weeks….I can by no means compare to some of the HUGE
fans of MJ that I have seen on here, but I am a lifelong fan of Michael and my heart hurts for the loss of such an amazing human being, I am truely ashamed of how our society loves to build someone up to impossible heights, only to push them over the edge and delight in their pain as they fall……
The Fege Mermaid (actually should be spelled FeeJee Mermaid, couldn't get that to work as my user name), is of course a reference to the whole P.T. Barnum connection/theory which is absolutely fascinating to me as I am a big fan of his

Lol I was wondering about the spelling of FeeJee Mermaid.
Rofl, it is a very striking picture although a monkey sewn to the back end of a fish was never going to be Ariel lol it still freaks me out every time I see it. Give me The Little Mermaid anyday. I think Barnum is a genius too so I can't say anything, Shikster is the one who originally introduced me to Barnum and I have to say the guy was awesome.
I don't know why I didn't know much about him before because he had brilliant ideas – the 'Brick Man', the Giant hoax, all the weird and wonderful things he accumulated and displayed over the years. I have to say I am a fan of his now, it's amazing the different things you learn. I'd barely even heard of the name Barnum before joining this site.

Barnum was brilliant and like MJ, never quite given the respect or credit that he rightfully deserved because some people disagreed with his lifestyle, his ideas & his methods for making money and entertaining the masses. I was blown away when Shikster first made the connection and was fascinated by how much sense it all made.
I am a nurse, and I work in an office full of people who now think I have officially lost my mind. I have heard some pretty ignorant statements from coworkers regarding Micheal over the last few weeks. I have been ridiculed inccesently for even mentioning the possibility of there being a hoax. I get negative comments daily and everyone has had quite a few laughs at my expense lately. I have come to the conclusion that Micheal was either loved or reviled by almost everone. Everyone seems to have an opinion one way or the other. Amazing that one man could inspire such passionate feelings in so many people! Love him or hate him, but I have not met one single person who felt nothing for him……
