Jackson's ex Rowe sues over fake emails

LOS ANGELES — Michael Jackson's ex-wife Debbie Rowe, the mother of two of the King of Pop's children, has filed a lawsuit accusing a woman of falsifying emails to defame her, court documents show.
In documents filed in Los Angeles' Superior Court on Thursday, Rowe accuses Rebecca White of defamation, invasion of privacy and causing emotional distress.
Jackson's ex-wife says White fabricated emails that purportedly showed Rowe did not want custody of her children after Jackson's death.
In the complaint Rowe contends that she did not send the emails, and that she had not been in communication with White at all since Jackson's death on June 25.
White could not be reached for comment on the lawsuit and Rowe's attorney has not specified what sort of damages are being sought.
Rowe was an assistant to Jackson's dermatologist when she met the singer.
They married in 1996 and had two children, Prince Michael and Paris, before divorcing in 1999.
Rowe signed over parental rights to the children to Jackson, who later had a third child, Prince Michael II, by a surrogate.
Jackson's will ordered all three children to be cared for by his mother, Katherine Jackson, who has been granted temporary custody of the two boys and one girl.
Soul singer Diana Ross, a friend of Jackson's, was named as an alternate guardian in the will, which did not name Rowe in connection with custody of the children, or as a beneficiary.
Initial reports after Jackson's death suggested Rowe had no interest in seeking custody of the children, but she says those reports were based on White's falsified emails and that she will seek custody.
A custody hearing is scheduled for Monday and could be attended by both Rowe and Katherine Jackson.
