for those of you wondering how it actually works, etc.
this highlighted excerpt in particular, caught my attention -
Funeral directors often struggle to obtain a physician's signature on a death certificate. In an age of managed-care HMOs and multispecialty clinics, they must not only locate the busy practitioner for a signature, but also identify the correct physician. Survivors cannot bury or otherwise dispose of a corpse until a licensed physician signs a permanent death certificate or a medical examiner signs a temporary death certificate. Medical examiners (or coroners) list the cause of death as “pending” until further laboratory tests determine the actual cause of death. Except in unusual cases, disposition of the remains need not wait for the final autopsy report, which may take weeks to complete.

What it sounds like is that if the reports take weeks to complete, They shouldn't wait for burial. Also, Hunt down this doctor for his signature. This is interesting.

That's what I'm saying. And it's already been THREE WEEKS, almost going on a month now that he hasn't been 'buried' UNLESS they buried him in secret, which is still f**ked up. They should at least announce that he was already 'buried' – without naming a location, nobody will steal the body, but at least some people will have closure. Because honestly, if he IS dead, that is rather disrespecful. Also, I guess Dr. Murray is in Texas now? So he fled California. Looks like no one wants to step up and sign that death certificate.
