I've asked this before and I'll ask again…if the insurance payout isn't public record, how the hell did the AP find out about it? Did they speak with the executors of the will? The attorney's? The family? How do we know for a FACT that this happened?

We don't. Someone from the AP put it in an article and it spread like wildfire. We all know that the masses are quick to jump on a bandwagon. I'm not buying the whole insurance thing.
MJ is still alive, I believe that!

Ditto … AP may sound credited but not factual – just some rumor…...

It was discussed in open court today and made a part of the record by filings from the attorneys.

I can't exactly answer your question, but it is a very good one! I was kind of wondering that myself actually. Everyone says that the AP is such a credible news source but they have also been known to copy the stories they hear from other sou rces…tmz etc. I was wondering if they were the first ones to report the “insurance thing” how do we know it wasn't a fabricated story to shut everyone up and they just believed it or if they were actually feeding off another tabloid or “unknown source”. I thought that was it for me and believeing in the whole “hoax” idea but the more I thought about it, the insurance and everything else just dont seem to add up. So I am not quite ready to give up believing just yet!We questioned the whole insurance thing and then “poof” all of a sudden theres a story about it, we questioned the fact there was only one pic of Dr. M and then” poof” there were more the next day!!! Who knows maybe I am wrong and it's over, but I need more proof than just reports that insurance has been claimed!!!
BTW I hope someone can answer your question!!…lol

It's actually the other way around. Many large newspapers (NY Post, Chgo Tribune) rely on the AP for national news.

In light of this, how does the hoax theory survive?

It doesn't. Well, unless MJ is allowing all of these people to put their licenses, reputation, and lives on the line, including his own mother.

AP says “Court filings state the administrators of Michael Jackson's estate have received the King of Pop's life insurance proceeds.”
But this filings are not public record, so it's very likely that haven't actually seen court filings.
Probably they got this from a “source” that they think is credible, i.e. a family member.
I think each one of us individually will have to decide whether to believe this news or not and what to make of it.
I'm not giving up hope yet and I think I never will. I'll be like one of those crazy Elvis fans. Yep, I'm loosing it.

The beauty of conspiracy theories is that the more they try to talk you out of it, the more they reinforce the idea of conspiracy. |

Sorry, but it WAS mentioned. And, it's part of the court record. It's not sealed–you can go down to the courthouse and see it yourself (unless these proceedings were specifically sealed–I didn't ask my contact that).

I realize that, but who's to say the AP's sources are more credible than others especially with this whole Michael Jackson story. In most cases yes, they are the most credible. But it seems to be the going thing since this story began from all media that all their info seems to come from an “unamed source”!! Until all media can start naming their sources or backing up there “sources” info with solid proof, for me it makes anything they say a little hard to believe. But that is just my opinion, and I could be totally wrong! Perhaps I just choose not to believe anything because I don't want to accept the fact that he really may have passed away!

There are no links to paperwork filed in the court records. You would have to go there and search the file to see what's in there. Also, there is no link to the court testimony. If you can find out what court reporter transcribed the proceedings, you could probably get a copy of the transcript.
No, I wasn't in court, but a colleague was.

Why? I'm not the one who wants to know what I already know, and that which supports my position all along on this board. If you're interested, you are welcome to do that. BTW, it's going to cost money for those items; they aren't free.

doonbuggy..The documents were filed in an open court..I think that means anyone can see them..Tenderoni had a collegue there in the court, correct??..I think this proves beyond all doubt that Michael did pass away..I think we should just accept that now..At what point do we accept that Mike is really dead?? What Tenderoni has said is good enough proof for me..Honestly, these past weeks my belief's have fluctuated from one extreme to the other..There have been times I have been convinced that Michael is still alive..But in light of the insurance payout and Tenderoni having a collegue that WAS THERE in the court room, I can now finally accept that Michael is gone. I know not many will accept this..But there has to come a point where we just have to face it…Take care..xxx
