STARPULSE ENTERTAINMENT NEWS July 4th, 2009 6:33pm EDT
The concert promoters behind Michael Jackson's comeback tour will receive a multi-million dollar payout from the show's insurers if reports linking the superstar's passing to drugs are correct – because their policy covers death by overdose.
AEG Live bosses took out a $17.5 million insurance policy from Lloyd's of London in the event a health crisis would cause Jackson to pull out of his 50-date London residency.
Following his sudden death last week, rumors have swirled about the “Thriller” singer's prolonged dependence on prescription drugs, with some reports suggesting his cardiac arrest was triggered by an accidental overdose.
Further tests to determine the singer's cause of death have been ordered by the Los Angeles coroner's office and the results are expected within weeks.
If drugs are proved to have played a part in Jackson's untimely passing, AEG executives will be able to recoup some of their massive losses – but not if he's ruled to have died of natural causes, according to the company's chief executive Randy Phillips.

but is it possible like some claimed on otherthreads early today that the cause of MJ's 'death' is availble but not for public to knw yet?
I really wish Michael's still alive

The coroner said first it would come at the end of the week and now it is undefinitely delayed,
i think they are talking about the private autopsy, this one doesn't need to be revealed, by the family to the public, it's the coroner, ED Winter, 's result on which the police is supposedly waiting that we must wait on, but it is undefinitely delayed,

I truly don't think they will cash in on any insurance cause you need the cause of death and it has been differed and the coroner is still searching
and i don't think that Mrray confessed to anything, i think that the media is accusing the guy of confessing, so they can have something to report, if the guy had confess to propofol then the coroner wouldn't have to keep on searchin' , and the police would have arrested Murray.

i find it rather amusing that people go “oh no – life insurance paid out. This kills the hoax ” He also went through not one, but two autopsies. We've heard the LA coroner talk about his autopsy for weeks, yet people managed to stay “nah, he's still alive. The coroner is in on the hoax”. Isnt an autopsy performed by an actual pathologist (forgot his name) also supposed to be hard evidence that he's gone? Yet people kept the hope alive? Well, what makes you think the life insurance payout isnt a part of the hoax too? IF this is a hoax, surely MJ must've thought this through and taken care of every little detail. In order to make this look authentical and make people believe that he indeed is dead, his family and lawyers have to go about their business like they would've done in the event of anyone's death…..

@ Keisha7:
I hope it's true. It may be far-fetched but I thought about the possibility of the extermity of this death hoax plan. If Michael was indeed in great danger, so much so that his life was at risk, it would be reasonable to think that maybe he would literally 'disappear', explaining the custody battle and Debbie's visitation rights (there is no way that MJ would allow such thing to happen if he could) as well as his insurance payout. to save his life, he has to stay 'dead' until it is safe to come out – as far as I am concerned, Sony is behind MJ's destruction. I don't care if I never get to see Michael again whether it'd be in person or through his tour. just as long as his safety is guaranteed by staging his death, then let it be.

I thought about that too – the media can do just about anything to bring down someone. look what happened to Michael!! but what makes me so confused is that some reports stated that it would be difficult or almost impossible to prove a doctor would overdose his/her patient with the intention to kill. that's why people r speculating that Murray may never be charged.

if there is an insurance payout and MJ comes out then he will have to have a very good explaination with evidence ready that someone was trying to kill him, cause if there is aninsurance payout then he will be arrested for fraud, the best thing for him to do is to stay whereever he is.and live his life in peace.

unless he's in protective custody. IF that's the case, then i doubt he'll be arrested for fraud.

TRUST ME !
the doc had no reason to kill MJ
cause he was 700.000 Dollars in debts, and he was making 150.000 dollars a month he could have paid all his debt with this money,
this salary was the solution to his financial woes.
he had no reason to kill MJ, but of course there must be a fall guy.
so they will take him as the scapegoat.

I agree but wouldn't it be possible that the reports about the insurance payout and all the court hearing concerning it was all part of the process to make it believable that he is 'dead'? I think this hoax plan was not to make a comeback but rather to save his life – coz as some pointed out for the last few days , it would be impossible to do so as so many people are involved who could potentially lose their jobs in the process – the FDA, UCLA, paramedics, 911 operating agency, even Arnie Schwarznegger..i mean if his life was on the line, everything had to be perfect right – no slip ups- otherwise he's a goner. but his children his whole life and it's the main reason that makes me doubt this plan – how can he see his children now if he's in hiding?

I don't know what to believe coz there seems to be 2 sides to every damn story concerning MJ . Like Murray was paid 150 grand a month which would solve his debt problem as u said but there is also a report that says that he was never paid coz apparently Michael never signed the contract b4 he 'died'. if the latter is true, it would be astrong motive for Murray to committ such a hideous crime but if what u say is true (which I hope it is) the media is BSn again.

MJ insisted for murray to be hired by AEG to take care of him, Murray has been working for MJ for a month not 11 days like the media wants you to believe.

but that's another contradictory story – another side to that one is that it was AEG who hired Murray not because he insisted. that's why Joe Jackson questioned the need for such a healthy man as Micahel who passed a medical test with 'flying colours' to be assisted by a cardiologist. someone's def. lying. if Michael did hire the crook it could hav been as some reports say (which I am strongly opposed to) to feed his addictions. my argument for this is that Murray didn't even know how to administer propofol but only did after being taught by Arnold Klein.
